It’s from March, but I totally forgot to post about it,
so here it is! On March 9th (Saturday), I went to DayDay’s 1st Anniversary Live!

Excitement Before the Opening
As soon as I entered the venue, I was overwhelmed—so many people, the smoke filling the arena, and wow, the arena is huge! It was just breathtaking.
Once I found my seat, I realized it was on the same floor as the artists—connected to the ground!
I was excited by myself. Everyone had pen lights, it felt like walking through a Disney park (Oh, they have NiziU’s original pen light).
I even noticed the lighting guy in front of me and thought about how they must avoid stepping on those cables. I wondered if I knew anyone there. Being alone made me think about all these trivial things to pass the time.
I could already feel the intensity even before it started.
If they start singing a ballad here, I might cry.
I realized that a live concert is the perfect place to proudly declare who your favorite is!
You can bring your belongings, like merch—anything related to your favorite artist! Even lock screens on smartphone is the idol, no one doesn’t care so fans can express their love openly here.
It felt like we were all the same, which made me feel at ease. The concept of a “live concert” already felt amazing to me.
Finally, it Begins!!
It started with edhiii boi’s performance,
energizing the crowd with rap and DJing.
NiziU made an appearance, followed by Perfume, and finally, a collaboration between NiziU and Perfume.
It was truly three and a half hours of pure excitement and frenzy!
FOOOOOORRRR!!! (*゚▽゚*) It still feels like I’m dreaming.
Just now, as I took the train back home, it suddenly hit me, like, wait, is this real? I was abruptly pulled back to reality. It made me feel a lot of things.
Reflecting on the Live Concert on the Way Home
The overwhelming sense of being special
I was lucky enough to be in the front row of the second floor, F2.
Even though it’s the second floor, it felt like being on the same floor as the artists, right at the front of the outer perimeter.
(*Outer perimeter like that extended runway-like thing from the stage.)
When the artists walked by, our eyes met, and I could have easily touched them, but they were too beautiful for me to approach. It’s that kind of distance (haha).
The overwhelming scale
From my seat, I could see the stage on the right and the entire venue on the left. When I glanced sideways, the pen lights shimmered brightly, and there were so many of them! It was truly stunning, and I couldn’t even express it with just “impressive.” It was so dramatic and had such a sense of presence.
Feeling the performers’ emotions firsthand
During the collaboration with Perfume, Miihi-chan got emotional and started crying while they held hands.
Seeing that made me emotional too.😭
Everyone in the venue was teary-eyed.
And before that, during a song, Rima-chan looked like she was about to cry while dancing. I saw it on the venue’s monitor and ended up crying too…
Of course, I cried.
Dancing alongside artists I admire, with tens of thousands of fans watching us—it was a scene where life couldn’t shine any brighter. In just “one song,” “five minutes,” I felt everything—the struggles so far, my feelings for NiziU, everything.
It was overwhelming in a way, and I couldn’t help but cry out of happiness.
Seeing Miihi-chan’s tears made my eyes well up too.
Mikiko-san’s choreography was truly amazing
And then Perfume’s choreography was amazing too.
What’s amazing is that it doesn’t affect their singing at all.
I danced along while watching, and I realized how genius it is to have choreography that doesn’t interfere with their clear, easy-to-sing vocals.
I wonder if it’s still Mikiko-san’s choreography now? I’m not sure.
MCs, styles, perfection—all were top-notch professional
The MCs’ delivery, and everyone’s style—it left me speechless.
Slim. And I don’t mean slim as in skinny. It’s like their bone structure is slim.
Their faces are tiny, overwhelmingly cute. (This is totally how an otaku would talk, right? LOL)
Maya-chan waved at me, twice! I felt like we could be friends, mimicking hearts at each other (laughs). I like her a lot.
Also, Riku-chan introduced her perfume, but she just said it’s a new one today without saying the name, and it smelled so good that I want to buy the same one.
It smelled so elegant, like what you’d expect from a city girl. I want to buy it…! (lol)
Lessons Learned from the Choreography
Lastly, let me summarize what I learned from the choreography study.
(*This is super geeky talk, so it’s for industry folks.)
– It’s okay to incorporate movements that are more mysterious or from another world (I thought it was okay to not be orthodox. There were movements like karate that were impressive and interesting.)
– Use all parts of your face in the choreography. It’s okay to just shake your head. It’s okay to just raise your leg. Use a lot of knee bends and wrist switches to make it more Perfume-like.
– Because movements tend to be symmetrically the same on both sides, insert a pose on the 4th count and change to a different movement with a varied tempo.
– Also, to fit the song, it’s necessary to minimize the up-and-down movement typical of hip-hop and switch to jazz movements. Walking forward, rotating shoulders while stepping backward, fluttering movements—all in jazz movements might work well for pops.
It was a great learning experience!!
Lastly,
I wanted to buy the T-shirt dance merchandise, but it was immediately SOLD OUT, so I had to give up.
But I did want keychains and such.
I understand now why people want merchandise—it’s a way to hold onto today’s memories and cherish the wonderful feelings of this moment forever.
As someone who sometimes performs at live concerts, I’ll do my best to keep up with this enthusiasm and keep being able to perform in this watched position!
Well then, see you later!
